Welcome to the First Blog of Adapti Hub.

Thank you for stopping by Adapti Hub and thank you for making time to read my blog.

Adapt Hub is a dream fulfilled for me personally.  Prior to 2018, my experiences with persons with disabilities and elderly persons was pretty limited.  Since that time, I have been engaged with people who had previously been healthy and whose lives took an unexpected turn which left them in need of life adaptations.  Generally speaking, the family was not prepared for how life would change.   Generally speaking, the family learned later or even too late, about resources and aids that could have been very beneficial to improving quality of life.

My own mother who had been a sharp-dressed lady, started to having to dress in a very unattractive style.  Due to health reasons, she had to wear functional clothes, not stylish ones.  I will never forget the day I first saw her looking like this.  It depressed me because I could tell she had lost her shine.  She was clothed so that she wasn’t naked, but she was not dressed by any stretch of the imagination.  She didn’t like the way she looked and it was obvious.

Other people I encountered struggled to find a walker that fit their height and walked hunched over.  They were unaware of the slick new walkers/rollators that can be adjusted to help posture and promote safety.

Being a crazy research nerd, I started looking for things that could help people who were living a different life than before.  I wanted to find things that would at least remove some of the stress they experienced daily.   I wanted to find resources that people could take advantage of to help them financially, physically and even emotionally.   I wanted to find things that could help people stay engaged in the world and not be relegated to being isolated at home.

All of these struggles weighed heavy on my mind and Adapti Hub was born.

We will showcase clothing, equipment and resources.  We will have interviews with professionals who offer thoughtful perspectives and experience.  We will have interviews with successful people who overcome daily challenges and find ways to thrive.

I welcome your input and suggestions as we grow Adapti Hub and I thank you for your support.

Blessings,

Yvette
